Massage or Abhyanga is one of the treatment of Ayurveda.

The whole treatment of can be divided into two major categories. First one is Shamana (where we use only medicines to treat the patients) and other one is Shodhana (where we take the help of procedures to treat the patient)

In Shodhana, Panchakarma is group of the treatments whre five procedures are included. Not all of five procedures are carried out to a patient during treatment. Among Panchakarma, Massage or Abhyanga is one of the major treatment.

There are some Ayurvedic medicines as they can not be taken for long duration.

Ayurvedic medicines are also having expiry date. Expiry date of shelf life of Ayurvedic medicines are explained in classical Ayurvedic texts, taking this into consideration government has also fixed expiry date to each formulation of Ayurvedic medicines.
